Uzbekistan pumped storage power station

Uzbekhydroenergo and China Southern Power Grid have come to an agreement on the construction of the Verkhne-Pskemskaya pumped storage power plant (PSPP) with a capacity of 600 megawatts (MW). The project worth $1 billion will be implemented in the Boʻstonliq District of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Region.

This project is a key collaboration between ACWA Power and the Uzbekistan Ministry of Energy, which includes a 200MW photovoltaic and 500MWh energy storage system. Once completed, it will become the largest integrated photovoltaic and storage project in Central Asia.
